Buying the second and third copy of CDs of music I already own just isn't wise financially nowadays. I really need to finish cataloging my collection. I'm now thinking of buying the OrangeCD catalog software. That seems a bit steep for me, especially if there's a scanner for $25, and Music Collectorz doesn't use just the CD as information to catalog.

I currently use Music Collectorz software for my CD database (PC computer), but when I was looking up the barcode reader on eBay, the only one I found is for $75. And, if something good or better becomes available, please share the info! I hope others who are looking for CD cataloging software feel that they have several choices. Backing up the database to an external drive was extremely easy as well, so I may have my newest software of choice. I need to see what info I can print out from the database so it's easy to check against what I'm seeing in the Classifieds (or wherever), or eBay or AF or.wherever. I think I'm on the track and when at least the majority of my collection is in a database, I'll be happy with finishing up. At least I have more options than I thought I did before, but that's a good thing. Again, my desire I is to have all my CDs cataloged as efficiently and as accurately as possible, and I'm finding that's what I have so far. But if I can do that many CDs in such a short period of time, I'm gonna invest in the software and feel comfortable having all the info (there's still more I need to learn about the program), that's exactly what I need. I'll check out the "cue cat" scanner on eBay to see what I can find. So, if I can get my whole collection in a matter of several hours (where I just insert the CDs into the CD-ROM and get all the info available in that time), the investment into the software Is exactly what I'm looking for.

I'll certainly consider checking it out, but I downloaded the trial version of OrangeCD software and was able to add about 20-30 CDs in a very short period of time.
